Bunka
Brand Identity
Bunka is an album by Japanese Singer and song producer Eve. This project is a campaign for the limited edition of the album. Bunka means culture. Although culture is usually used in terms of a particular country or region, there’s also culture in smaller communities like elementary schools or within one’s family. There may be differences between individual culture compared to others’ and feels this could cause a dilemma.
In this project, my aim was to encapsulate Eve's distinctive compositional personality and convey the overarching mood of the album. It delves into themes of cultural contrasts, a pervasive sense of displacement, and an ineffable distance, all presented through a visually intricate and thought-provoking lens.
Employing a striking interplay of black and white with carefully interspersed text, the design challenges the conventional boundaries of human perception. As the enigmatic aspects of the narrative unfold, there arises a heightened desire to delve deeper, thereby enhancing the album's visibility and fostering a lasting imprint within the audience's memory.
